Carmela Combe was a very important woman in Peru: she was the only woman in the 20’s to fly an airplane in the country. She received national awards regarding the aviation, which made her very popular in Peru and all around the world.

She had rough moments throughout her career, just like an accident she suffered in 1921, where she got hurt. But she didn’t care about it, and she returned to aviation in the moment she could. She bought and airplane, and it got destroyed in an accident. She competed in a couple of car races and she wrote in “Mundial” as “Marisabidilla”.

73 years later after her first ride, she flew away to heaven.

About her work:

She really made a difference in the aviation area. She was a pioneer in Peru, and it was more important because she was a pioneer between the women.

The only reason she made this was the fact that she wanted and she had the ability to do it, so nothing would stop her to achieve her dream. She represented the change.
